Retail & Mixed Use
A&M provided land survey, civil engineering, and permitting services for this mixed-use retail/hospitality development. Improvements included the redevelopment of several vacant commercial buildings and parking/loading areas. The existing buildings were razed and three new buildings were constructed on the site. The new buildings included an 18,000± s.f. retail building, a 27,000± s.f. retail building and a 2,000± s.f. restaurant building.
The project also included the construction of landscaped parking areas with approximately 258± parking stalls. The two existing curb cuts were maintained; however, the northerly entrance was adjusted to function as an exit-only. The site improvements also include lighting, drainage, sewer, water, electric, and communication lines. Land Survey included Existing Conditions, Foundation Certification, and full As-Built.
The project site was within an Industri-Plex Superfund site. The design team worked with the EPA, and the state and local government to record property use restrictions, prepare work plans, tear down the existing building, and return the property to productive use. A&M obtained all the necessary permits required through the City of Woburn.
