Multi-family Residential
Allen & Major provided land surveying, and civil engineering services for this mixed-use development situated at 120 Commerce Way in Woburn, Massachusetts. The project features 298 residential units, ground-level retail, and commercial spaces, a seven-story parking garage, a restaurant, and desirable amenities.
Located within the Commerce Way Corridor Overlay District (CWCOD) the allowed-use project required Site Plan approval as well as a Special Permit with the Woburn City Council. The project was also the first-ever EPA approval to redevelop a Region 1 Superfund site for residential use. This approval set a new standard for how future residential redevelopment projects will proceed under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act framework.
Besides permitting the project scope included site design, parking lot configuration, site access, drainage improvements, utility coordination, construction administration, and construction support. Land survey services include existing conditions, ALTA/NSPS Land Title survey, off-site roadway existing conditions survey, construction layout, and utility as-built. A&M also provided off-site landscape architecture services to prepare a roadway planting plan for both Atlantic Avenue and Commerce Way for their entire lengths to address off-site mitigation requirements as requested by the City of Woburn to enhance pedestrian and vehicle safety.
